Pastor & Leadership

Karif Lawrence

Senior Pastor

Meet Pastor Karif aka Pastor “K”

He is a Sacramento native who loves to spend time with God, his wife, and his family. His passion for helping others build lives of significance through a relationship with Jesus Christ, relevant teaching, and community engagement is what drives him. He obtained a degree in Biblical Studies because understanding the Bible and its context aids in connecting the scripture to our current circumstances.

Pastor Karif is an active community member by leading efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic for testing and vaccinations in underserved neighborhoods in Sacramento. He engages in efforts and connects with organizations that positively affect people’s lives. As a result, he participates on various boards and advisory committees to get outside of the four walls of the church building.

Karif’s charge is to help hurting people heal by encountering God, a loving church community, and addressing their physical, emotional, and educational needs. He believes the work of God through the church is accomplished when those in the church experience God’s love, leading, and direction daily with the support of others doing the same.  His approach is friendly, outgoing and caring mixed with humor.  His God given gifts are experienced through his preaching, teaching and leadership.

The loves of his life Danielle (wife), Maia, Jasmine, and Kaylee, are the support system that keeps him grounded and motivated.

Mike Archangelo

Director of CHildren's Ministries

Hi, my name is Michael "Mikey" Arcangelo, a God-fearing, compassionate, loving man of God. God our Father through His Son Jesus Christ is the center and strength of my life, # UNO, because I was lost and now I’m found, was blind but now I see, and on an old rugged cross He suffered and died for you and me, along with family and my church. I was born at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California to a very loving mom and dad, graduated from Elk Grove High School, and served in the US Army. God blessed me with a beautiful and wonderful wife Teresa ("Teri") of 44 years, three beautiful daughters, and five grandkids. I get blessed by seeing God's beauty camping, kayaking, riding quads, and blessing others with the many skills God has blessed me with. In Matthew 20:28, Mark 10:45, and John 13:1-17 Jesus tells and shows us, "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many", so we should do the same by loving one another and serving the best we can because by faith and prayer we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.

Lance McGee

Director of WorshiP

We want you to meet Franklin “Lance” and his wonderful wife Natalie. Lance is the father of 2 children, Franklin III, and Nayeli. We are grateful that God has guided their family to Sacramento and Southside Community Church from Detroit, Michigan.

Lance’s life has been based around music even starting at the tender age of 6 years old. He began by playing the drums in church and being surrounded by talented musicians. Lance plays various instruments, including piano, organ, and bass guitar.

Lance’s passion for music and worship has lead him to be a co-founder, musician, songwriter, and producer of the 2021 Stellar Award Gospel Quartet group Young Men 4 Christ (YM4C). YM4C is a music ministry that was brought forth in 2012 with the intent to touch the very heart of GOD.

His favorite scripture is Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

As the Director of Worship at Southside Sacramento Church, he will be taking the best of his musical gifts, talents, and education to lift the members, guests,  and community in the intimate act of worship. Music is both an art and a science. In music, his focus is on excellence, professionalism, and the role of worship, bringing us into the presence of GOD and setting the atmosphere for the gospel to change lives.
